Brief:
Beginners Cross Country, is a Fun Run based event that is timed so that the children can have a target to build on each race. There will be no league format and no medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. There is an importance on bringing the same runners each time, or at least to two of the races, so that they have an opportunity to improve.
The event is aimed at complete beginners that are unlikely to be able to complete the whole course without walking. Each runner will need to have a runner number, this will need to be fixed to their front for the race, which will help us to time their run. Children will need to use the same number for each race, new runners will need a new runner number and cannot share a number. This will be emailed to you to print out before the race.
Intermediate Cross Country, is for children that have experience with cross country before but aren’t experienced runners. An experienced runner would be a child that attends a running club or an elite sports club (football academy). The Elite Race is on a Saturday.
The run times will be ordered and will give runners placings as per previous years and this will determine team and individual scores for each category with each runners best 4 finishes determining their own overall score. Should this be tied after all races, their 5th best finish will be taken into account.
Teams: Squads of 6 per race. 10 KS1 Pupils. 34 children Max.
